The committee has selected Powers Hill Design to design the project. The award letter is posted above.
The steering committee met on Jan. 5 and recommended inviting three design firms to present their qualifications to the group on Jan. 27. Eight firms submitted responses to the city’s request for qualifications. Powers Hill Design, A2H and Kimley-Horn were selected to make in-person presentations.
The Jan. 27 presentations and committee meeting will take place between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. at the Benjamin L. Hooks Central Library.
The grading sheet that will be utilized by selection team members has been posted.

The steering committee held a 50-minute organizational meeting Thursday, electing Doug McGowen as chairman and Maria Munoz-Blanco as vice chairman.
The committee approved the draft request for qualifications (which is posted in the Useful Documents portion of this page) with the addition of terms requesting certain stormwater qualifications. The draft RFQ is being prepared as a final document and will be posted to this page when complete.
The committee’s consensus is to have the meetings open to the public. Members of the public will be able to offer their input via a tool that will be developed for this page. The committee will explore a different venue with video/archiving capabilities for future meetings.
