Fitness Center Rates

Sports

Badminton
  • Wednesdays from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Saturdays from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Basketball/Basketball Fundamentals
  • Registration for Children's Basketball Teams (ages 5 to 12) Dates TBA - Games are played during the Fall and Winter months.

Baton - Champions Baton Club. Students gain self-confidence through achievement of weekly goals, positive reinforcement and performance opportunities. Baton twirling teaches teamwork, goal setting, tenacity, and dedication. The use of correct body and baton technique are stressed through baton and body skills, parade routine, class dance twirl routines and other various skills. All students have the chance to perform at area events.

  • Batons can be purchased on the first day of class
  • All classes are held during camp hours.

Coach: April Glisson. April is an Elite level twirler and the current featured twirler "Golden Girl" for the University of Memphis. She is a Journalism student in her 2nd year at U of M. She also twirls on an Elite team representing the USA in World competitions. Her Team "Encore" won the Bronze Medal in Rome in 2006.

Cheerleading - Want to become a cheerleader at Bert Ferguson? Call Melissa at 373-3655 for information on our year round cheerleading. Ages 3-15 years old.
    Summer Cheer Camp - Campers will learn beginning cheerleader motions, jumps, crowd participation, and a complete dance routine. Campers will receive a Cheer T-shirt and a spirit medal. No prior cheerleading experience necessary.

Flag Football - TBA.

Gymnastics and Tumbling - Memphis Point Gymnastics Academy
Trained instructors guide and teach student in a caring manner with emphasis on strength, balancing, coordination, and age appropriate motor skills. Skills taught are back-handsprings, round-offs, standing backs, backtucks, cartwheels, bridge to back walkovers, splits, handstands and much more. MPGA offers Advance and Beginner classes.

All students MUST have a waiver signed by a parent or legal guardian prior to participating in class. Waivers will be available at the beginning of class or by calling (901) 759-2228.

Karate and Kung Fu - Okinawan Karate and Shaolin Kung Fu are rated the top two ultimate martial arts in the world. You will learn self control, self discipline, self confidence, peace of mind, and how to relieve stress. Martial Arts will improve your physical condition and balance, communication skills, respect for others, goal achievement, attitude, and study skills.

Join certified instructors, toddlers, kids, and teens in a live class designed appropriately for each age group. DVDs are available for only $18.95 and tee-shirts for $10.00.
