Urban Fellows
The Urban Fellows is a year-round initiative that offers local college students the opportunity to intern with various divisions of City of Memphis government. The program serves primarily to enhance the interaction of area college students with the City, advancing the purpose of getting students to consider employment after graduation - ultimately making Memphis their permanent home. The Urban Fellows will complete projects proposed by division directors, which are inclusive of a national comparison of the function of Pay-As-You-Throw programs, updating a policy and procedure manual for the Finance Division to conducting a policy analysis of Memphis' Workforce Investment Network. Urban Fellows sessions are offered in conjunction with the three academic semesters of fall, spring and summer.
