Councilman Bill Morrison was elected to the Memphis City Council in November 2007. He is an honor graduate of the University of Memphis, earning a bachelor's degree in Integrative Studies. During his senior year he was awarded the Outstanding Educator Award for student teaching and also served as the President of the Student Tennessee Education Association. He is currently working on a master's degree in Educational Administration and Supervision at the University of Memphis College of Leadership. Mr. Morrison is an eighth grade teacher at Southwind Middle School. He worked previously as the Human Resource Manager of Rural Metro Ambulance.
Mr. Morrison brings not only experience in education and business but also familiarity with the armed forces through service in the U.S. Army Reserves and is a distinguished Honor Graduate from the Academy of Health at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Councilman Morrison serves on the Raleigh Community Council and is the 2009 Chairman of the Planning and Zoning Committee and City Council liaison to the Memphis Zoo and the Memphis and Shelby County Port Commission. Mr. Morrison is the proud parent of a 10-year-old daughter.
