Mission Statement
To provide emergency response through community-based fire and emergency medical service, with emphasis on pre-hospital care and disaster preparedness to all the Citizens of Memphis.

Vision Statement
To be nationally recognized for progressive and innovative techniques in both Fire suppression and emergency care delivery enforcing a positive environment for public safety for Memphis. Firefighting will focus on preparing and maintaining its ability to respond to both manmade and natural disaster on both the local and national level.

Firefighting is responsible for the extinguishment and control of fires, emergency rescue, environmental hazards, emergency pre-hospital care, transportation to local hospitals, and disaster management including the Urban Search and Rescue operation.
