Planning and Development
Memphis Park Services works hard to improve existing facilities and bring new facilities to the people of Memphis. In our Planning & Development department, landscape architects, designers, and planners oversee all park planning and development of new parks and upgrades to existing facilities.
Projects for 2008-09
- Partnership with the Cordova Leadership Council to plant 250 Crape Myrtle trees along Germantown Parkway. More Information

- Paving of Lewis Senior Center parking lot.
- ADA compliance and HVAC and lighting upgrades at the Bellevue Tennis Center.
- Construction complete for Cancer Survivor's Park (funded by the Bloch Foundation)
- Renovation of the Overton Park Shell, jointly funded by the City of Memphis and the Friends of the Levitt Pavilion
- Renovation of the Riverview, Douglass, Charles Powell, and Whitehaven Community Centers
- Rebuilding the Audubon golf-cart barn
- Upgrade of the Liberty Bowl Stadium lower concourse restrooms
- ADA compliance and HVAC and lighting upgrades at Whitehaven and Wolbrecht Tennis Centers
